| It has been over six months since my last update...and not much has happened. I have read a few very intelligent books which have improved the way I think about finances, attitude and life in general. My wife and I are starting to win financially and we are very happy about that. A few more months and we will be completely debt free (woohoo!!!)!!! Then we will start saving for a house and some dirt to go under it. Otherwise my life remains quite uninteresting. I'll let you know if anything cool happens. Peace happiness and long life, Phil | | |
| I realize that everyone has moved over to myspace and no one will
actually read this, but I'll write a post anyhow. So I survived
my two weeks for Uncle Sam and met some great people. I
studied hard and performed well and ended up graduating with
honors. So that was cool. Now I just have to get
promoted. So yeah, life is slowly getting back to normal after
being gone for two weeks. I really need to get a new job.
Let me know if any of you know of a job that pays 40,000 a year or more
and has regular hours. I don't hate my current job really, I am
just tired of being overworked and getting paid less than I am
worth. Okay well, that's all for now. Peace happiness and
long life

| So, I just read that Iran is planning on attacking Israel if the US
does something they don't like. Why??? Israel doesn't
control the actions of the US and attacking Israel would only serve as a great way
to spark regime change in Iran...the entire world would hopefully join
us and come to the aid of Israel and replace the corrupt government in
Iran. I hope it doesn't come to that because there would be a lot
of blood spilled before things changed. Whose blood is not the
point. The point is that a lot of people would have to die, and
that is a very bad thing. So, I do not appreciate Iran trying to
manipulate the US by threatening our ally just because they have no way of
striking us directly (except our troops overseas). If they attacked our troops overseas I am
certain that we could defend ourselves, but I do not want to see such a
tragic loss of life. Anyhow, I just needed to vent. Peace
happiness and long life.

| Well, another drill weekend over and I am of course very sore and
really feel like we accomplished something. It was very
cool. The organizers were able to get the privates Blackhawk
rides and also got most of them on the rappel tower. There's
nothing quite like hanging forty feet above the ground knowing the only
thing between you and a very long fall (and of course that
painful landing at the end) is some rope...good times. I got to
help on some of the obstacles on the PEC course...very punishing and
very fun obstacle course. The obstacle I had the most fun on was
the three rope bridge. Most of the fun came from helping talk
terrified privates over tha obstacle. For those of you who don't
know what I am talking about, a three rope bridge ia actually made up
of several ropes, but it is named because of the three main
ropes: one that you walk on and two on either side a little higher than
waist level that you hold with you hands to aid you on your quest to
cross a fifteen foot deep rocky ravine. All of the privates went
across. A few of them were absolutely terrified to the point that
they couldn't even keep their eyes open. So I calmly taked them
through it and encouraged them and they got through it. It was
very rewarding to have a small part in helping those people overcome
their fear of heights, if even just once. And of course it was
fun to get to monkey around on the ropes. Okay, to some of you,
bouncing around on ropes fifteen feet above jagged rocks doesn't sound
like fun, but it really is. I have fallen on a three rope bridge
before and other than a nasty bruise under my arm where I caught myself
and the wedgie of a lifetime, I was fine. So, I am pretty
confident on those ropes and I play on them at every oppotunity.
Most of the weekend was cold and outdoors (which gave me the lovliest
sun/wind burn), but we really had a great time. I got to see my
old Basic Training company. So much has changed since I went
through basic. It was still there though and I took a picture of
the sign outside the barracks. Katie and I missed each other like
crazy of course so we went to dinner last night (by the way, the
Boneless Buffalo Tenders at 54th Street are great) after I finally got
back.

| | Currently Listening At Folsom Prison By Johnny Cash Cocaine Blues, I Got Stripes, and of course Folsom Prison Blues are all great songs see related | Well, it's St. Patrick's Day...I'm not sure what old St. Pat did to get his own day (I've heard the whole bunch of crap that he drove the snakes from Ireland, but that cannot be the real reason), but one thing is for sure, a lot of people are going to be very drunk tonight in his honor. Since my last post not much has actually changed. I drill in Kansas City again, so that is a lot less crappy than going to St. Louis once a month. Hmmm, not much else to talk about. Oh, Katie and I went to Dave and Buster's out by the Speedway last night. It was a heap of fun. The food was decent, but the game room was pretty amazing. We shot zombies of course, but the newest sequel of the game had uzis...I don't think I would actually like to fire an uzi (I'll shoot anything once), but it was fun to have so much firepower for dispatching zombies (did I mention grenades? There were grenades...yes, good times). There was another game with plastic MP-5's for dispatching terrorists and it was a whole lot of fun because rifles are so much easier to aim. The buttstock and longer length make shooting at such close ranges rediculously easy...if I could have been better about shooting hostages, I probably would have done great at that game. I think I only got shot once, but most of my injuries came from shooting hostages. They also had some very cool flight/spaceship type games that you actually sat in and they moved around so you got bounced around when they shot you and when you launched missiles and such. A good time was had by both myself and Katie (she has turned into quite the shooter that Katie. She has even learned to shoot velociraptors and other miscellaneous villains in midair, which is no small feat). I nearly forgot the wedding, how could I have forgotten that wedding? My dear friends Patrick and Michelle got married and I hope are enjoying every minute of their honeymoon. Katie and I were both in the wedding which is cool because I haven't ever been a groomsman before. It was great, but the tuxedo shoes hurt my feet like crazy. Really painful, but that's okay I knew I should have worn boot socks but I wore sissy dress socks instead. I would have been fine if I had worn boot socks. Anyhow, enought rambling from me. Peace happiness and long life, Phil | | |
